According to studies conducted by the World Bank, Brasov is the second most attractive city at the national urban level: 95% of our citizens state to be happy to live in Brașov; 79% consider that the foreign inhabitants of the city are well integrated;

Brașov has an innovative platform to connect the community to the needs of the city. Voluntarbv.ro centralizes all volunteering and internship opportunities in the city, having over 3200 active volunteers and 100 organizations engaged daily. 

Economy

+50 years of industrial tradition, coupled with a large and well-educated workforce. We perform in Automotive, Aviation, Tourism, and IT.

In terms of economic results, Brașov Metropolitan Area occupies the first place in the Center Region of Romania, being in the top four main economic engines of Romania, after Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, and Timișoara; Brașov County has a contribution of 29.5% of the total GDP of Region, 7411,79 mil. Euro in 2019

Besides +254.000 people living in Brașov, +123.000 able-bodied people live in the metropolitan area of the city and could commute to work in Brașov.

After Bucharest, Brașov has the most tourists nationwide. In the year before the pandemic, 681.244 tourists were registered, our city having 9559 tourist accommodation structures.

Education

We have a performant University Center with + 70 years of existence, training +20k students annually in 18 faculties, 83 undergraduate programs, 74 Master’s programs, and 18 PhD Fields; Transilvania University of Brașov has an R&D Institute with 30 Research Centres, facilitating important R&D Projects and partnerships with the  Industry focused on designing and developing innovative products and prototypes that are required on the market.

Brașov hosts The Kronstadt German Vocational School, the first dual state vocational school in Romania, created after the German model, with 18  world-renowned companies involved and 6 qualification programs available. 

Brașov hosts OHMA, offering solid specialized education in hospitality and AHA – the American Hotel Academy, the first international hotel management school in Romania.

Our city facilitates innovative educational Programs for our community, such as Generation Tech, an IT & digital skills development program for curious people of all ages who want to specialize in IT or Digital Marketing.

Transport Infrastructure

Brașov International Airport is expected to be operational in 2023; Bucharest OTP Airport and Sibiu Airport are less than 3 h’s drive from the city

Brașov is located at the intersection of 7 European, national and county roads; there are approximately equal distances between our city and the border crossing points, which gives Brasov the best geographical position at a national level.

Brasov is the center of a complex railway junction. Brașov train station is one of the busiest stations in the country, providing connections to various destinations in the country or abroad (Vienna, Budapest, Prague, Munich, etc.).
